Mr. Robert H. Milton started the Milton Realty & Insurance Company, Inc. in early 1947 as a full service Real Estate Sales and Property & Casualty Insurance Agency. Mr. Milton was a Lt. Colonel in the U.S. Army during World War II and a graduate of the University of Florida in Gainesville prior to the war. His agency provided excellent real estate and insurance services to Jackson County and it’s surrounding counties.
In the summer of 1975 Mr. Milton was joined by his son, Albert T. Milton who had recently graduated from the University of Florida in Gainesville with a B.S.B.A. Albert became the agency’s leading property and casualty producer. Albert purchased the agency in January of 1993. It became known as the Milton Insurance Agency, Inc. The agency offers a complete line of personal and commercial insurance services. In January of 1998 The Milton Agency purchased the Ormond Insurance Agency which was also located in Marianna and owned by Mr. & Mrs. Robert Crisp. The Ormond Insurance Agency had purchased a number of highly respected local insurance agencies in the years preceding the merger. The oldest agency purchased was the W.H. & Virgil Milton Agency which started business in 1892.

The Milton Insurance Agency is an independent insurance agency which is contracted to represent a large number of multi-line insurance companies. We are not employed by the companies. We are employed by our customers. The agency marketing territory is the entire State of Florida along with Alabama and Georgia.
